Chief Operating Officer
Heidi is Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for compliance and HR and our consultancy business, including responding to Requests For Proposal and tenders. Heidi volunteers with Friends of Streatham Common, managing the Friends’ volunteer database. Heidi was previously the Business Manager supporting the Chief Executive Officer of the Alzheimer’s Society. Prior to that Heidi served as Senior Parliamentary Assistant to Jonathan Evans MP and was Deputy Director of Research, Tribal plc and a researcher at Veredus, the resourcing division of Capita plc. She has BA (Hons) in Italian and French (First Class) from the University of Reading, and a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Sarah is the Commercial Director for LaingBuisson. She leads on marketing and international business development, is responsible for the events business and our market-leading websites. Sarah started her career in website development and account management with the specialist healthcare digital media agency Acumen Solutions, before moving to an Associate Director role at em:seven, a communication agency specialising in e-media and events within the healthcare sector. She joined LaingBuisson International in 2011 after running her own consulting firm for 10 years.
Chief Executive Officer
Henry is Chief Executive Officer of LaingBuisson. In addition, he is Non-Executive Chairman of Elizabeth Finn Homes, an advisor to the International Longevity Centre, and a trustee of Turn2Us, a national charity fighting poverty in the UK. Henry was an investment banker for nearly 20 years, advising healthcare companies across Europe. He started his career as a lawyer with Linklaters in London, New York and Washington before moving into banking with Rothschild, UBS Investment Bank and Jefferies, where he was Joint Head of European Healthcare Investment Banking. He has an MA in Law from the University of Oxford.
Founder, Non-Executive Chairman and Data Director
William is the Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of LaingBuisson, a well-known healthcare economist and a leading commentator on healthcare and social care. His views are often quoted in the media and he frequently speaks at conferences and participates in policy think tanks. Before founding LaingBuisson in 1976, William worked for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and the Office of Health Economics where he was Deputy Director. He has a BSc Econ from the London School of Economics.
Jenny is Group Editor for LaingBuisson’s business journals, HealthcareMarkets UK, Healthcare Markets international and CareMarkets UK. She is also the Managing Editor for the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ). Jenny is a marketing communications consultant with 15+ years business to business experience in healthcare, medical tourism and international patient business, legal, education, IT and voluntary sectors. She was Editor of the award-winning bimonthly member magazine for the National Pharmacy Association, and has worked in various marketing communications and research roles for advisory firms and consultancies.

Editor, HealthcareMarkets international
Adrian Murdoch has more than 25 years’ experience as an international journalist. He started his career at World Link, the magazine of the World Economic Forum. He covered debt capital markets for Reuters in Singapore throughout the Asian Financial Crisis, and then the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. As a freelancer he has worked for Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Euromoney, the Scotsman and the BBC. The author of a number of books on the classical world, Adrian has written and presented documentaries for Netflix, the History Channel and PBS. He has been covering healthcare markets in Southeast Asia for the past four years.

Maria has more than two decades’ experience as a business and financial journalist. She has specialised in writing about the UK’s private and voluntary healthcare sector for the last 15 years. Maria covered the historic ‘Condordat’ signed by the NHS and independent healthcare providers, which paved the way for the Labour government’s radical market-based reform of the NHS at the turn of the Millennium. Since then, she has tracked the key trends in independent healthcare from the advent of patient choice and the emerging NHS market to multi-million pound flotations and game-changing deals.

Deven Pamben has more than 15 years’ experience as a journalist, working on newspapers, trade magazines and online publications. A Criminology graduate, Deven worked for Hertfordshire Constabulary before becoming a journalist. He began his journalism career at a local newspaper in Hertfordshire before moving into trade magazines in permanent roles or as a freelancer. Titles he has reported and edited on include Law Society Gazette, Harpers Wine and Spirit, and Health Club Management. Deven has also written travel features for the Sunday People, and spent two years working in Beijing for the official press agency of the People’s Republic of China.

Charlotte is a Non-Executive Director of LaingBuisson. She is Head of Executive Share Plans at RELX Group, the FTSE 100 global information analytics business that helps institutions and professionals advance healthcare through its Scientific, Technical & Medical business. Charlotte was a solicitor for 17 years and a partner focused on corporate and personal tax at Speechly Bircham, now Charles Russell Speechly. She has a MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
Stephen is a Non-Executive Director of LaingBuisson and Executive Chair of LaingBuisson’s policy consultancy, Public Policy Projects. In addition, he is a trustee of Place2Be, a national charity focussed on children’s mental health and well-being, and the former Chair of the NHS Confederation. Stephen was a Member of Parliament for 36 years serving as Secretary of State for Health from 1995 to 1997 and the first elected chair of the House of Commons Health Committee between 2010 and 2014, and also acted as a senior adviser to KPMG supporting the Global Health and Public Sector practice.
